Village News
The islands in Ocean Country have been celebrating the arrival of the next Umikage, Saizo. The long bridge leading to SHIPPUUGAKURE NO SATO has been closed for outsiders because they wish to celebrate this moment with Ocean Country natives only.
As usual, the Storm Country has been hosting the Asgard Games to welcome their Kanetsukage, Cornelia. It's a double special occasion because Cornelia is also the first female Kanetsukage. She has been picked for her courage, loyalty and outstanding power by the BOUFUUGAKURE NO SATO elders.
Not only that, but the Cherry Blossom Country has become relieved as well. It seems that everyone is slowly picking up after the war now. KUSAMURAGAKURE NO SATO proudly presented their new Sakurakage, Altair.
TSUKIGAKURE NO SATO is still thriving on the merchants coming in and out. They have not experienced anything special lately. Their wealth has remained the same as they were not forced to invest into shinobi unlike the others.
On the cold isles of the Blizzard Country, HYOUGAGAKURE NO SATO has still refused to create a free traveling policy. Some habits never change. To protect their traditions, they have even warned outsiders to not interfere with their matters.
Now that everyone is picking up again, who will come out on top?

PostSubject: A Time Around the Waterfall   A Time Around the Waterfall EmptySat Aug 03, 2013 6:32 am

Hot. The land of Kusamuragakure was always a well heated land, not nearly as much as the ruined land of Kazangakure but he was welcomed to get away from it any day. This day in particular was more enjoyable than others as he had found himself near a waterfall near the village...or was it in the village? That was another thing about the hidden jungle, the lines of in and out were vague and with that, it was hard to tell when one truly entered the land but at that same time, it was relaxing enough to know that he could simply play the lost tourist or traveling man and it would be, more or less, air tight.

But the thing that caught his attention this day was something all the more enjoyable. He stood at the edge of a cliff that ran into a great waterfall. It ran straight down into a beautiful pond that shifted off into a river but the way the light hit the water was elegant and even more so, was the fish that swam within the waters below. They were small and shifted quickly but it looked like a moving mirror and it was something he had to take note of, even if it were for a simple moment or two. The thought of taking a jump was nice but the sounds of the rushing water and the cool air that came from it was enough to keep him satisfied...for the moment.

PostSubject: Re: A Time Around the Waterfall   A Time Around the Waterfall EmptySat Aug 03, 2013 6:47 am

Spira had come back to his favorite training spot, hoping to get some good training done after his recent missions. As he stepped closer to the pond at the bottom of the waterfall that he himself had made a monument to his efforts., he noticed what he though was a person at the top of the waterfall. He examined the figure as closely s he could, and couldn't make out any major details as the person was nothing more than a shape at this point.

He hoped that this person was friendly, and hoped even more that he wasn't after the fish as a food source. He decided to try and ask the person a question once they were close enough, possibly to confirm who he thought it may have been. The more he stared at the person, the more he looked familiar, like someone he'd seen on the street. Wait... he thought, Isn't that a tourist? How'd they get all the way out here? Spira decided it best to wait for the person to make a move. If they were to use aggression, then there'd likely be no way around it, however if they were friendly, then maybe he could make a new friend outside the many villagers he knew.

Spira took another couple steps forward, to the spot where he'd often set up camp for multiple weeks of training, setting up logs for his practice runs and near the pond where he normally placed them. He knew he would most likely be watched as he did this, but part of him was calm, and ready for the encounter.

A Time Around the Waterfall Empty
PostSubject: Re: A Time Around the Waterfall   A Time Around the Waterfall EmptySat Aug 03, 2013 7:28 am

The figure stood firmly at the top of the waterfall enjoying the view below him. There was always something about being higher than others, always gave him that feeling of being just that much stronger, regardless of the truth behind the fact or not, it was just simply something he had always enjoyed. He simply hated the thought of falling though, getting so high up only to let himself fall. He rose his hands up and slapped his cheeks a few times before shaking his head free of such thoughts as he continued to smile.

But, there was a change. Aside from the fish and the water there was someone else. There was someone else there that was obscuring the serene view he had. He would place one hand onto his hip and the other to his forehead so he could block the sun from his view and looked down at the figure but the distance and the water forming off of the waterfall made sure a clear view was something he wasn't able to get. He then watched as the other figure began to go about its own business and he straightened his posture. Friend or foe....did it ever stop him before? He would simply have to see for himself. He thought of simply jumping off the waterfall but he wasn't even sure how deep the water below was so he would simply...

The black coat shifted violently in the wind, the red clouds jolted from one side to the other from the sudden jump the figure had made. His hands came together and out of the water below, two water clones shot out, one collided beneath his feet whilst the other jumped up to catch him, only to collapse into the water with him. It took only a moment for the silver haired man to resurface and take in a deep breath of air and stared at the other young man with his slit-like eyes and constant smile and a simple word.

"Hello."

PostSubject: Re: A Time Around the Waterfall   A Time Around the Waterfall EmptySat Aug 03, 2013 7:48 am

Spira didn't flinch, but not because he wasn't impressed, but because he was focused on something else at the time. He returned the silver haired man's Hello. Without a second thought, and continued to go about his training, though he found the man's position in the water a bit... intrusive. He saw that the fish ha very well scattered and wasn't entirely sure of this man's identity or his reason for being in the same location as himself, leaving Spira with only one question: Who are you?

He felt that the more time he spent keeping his attention on his training, the better, as he might need it in case the silver haired man decided he wanted to attack. Spira knew very well to never turn his back on the enemy, but at the same time, he couldn't just drop what he was doing. He decided that it may be best to try his hand at focusing on multiple things at a time for once, multi=tasking in a sense by not only focusing on his training, but also the mysterious man who crashed into the pond next to him.

Could it have been that the crash landing was intentional, or was it that the clones were made of water themselves? Spira felt the answer to that question would come to him soon enough, giving him plenty of time to examine his current situation.

His greeting was received well enough which would imply that this encounter wouldn't be all that hostile for the moment at least. There seemed to be a bit of a thickness in the air, some sort of elephant in the room though he was not quite sure about how to go about addressing it. Then, there was the question for a name to the figure that now stood a bit wet in the water. "Lee." He would then continue to stand there in wait before asking after a moment passed "What would your name be? And if I could asked, what are you actually doing here?" The question itself was simple enough and with it, he would at least get a better glimpse of the person before him...even if all it was was a name.

Lee, was it? Well, as you can see, I'm about to start my training, and since you asked OH so nicely, my name is Spira During the entire time he spoke, he never once turned to look at Lee, not because he didn't want to, but rather he didn't need to. Spira felt calm around him, but at the same time, ready for a confrontation. He knew that the man next to him could likely be a rogue shinobi, but at the same time could just be a random ninja.

He continued setting up for his training, despite the presence of Lee disrupting his train of thought, but stop him, it did not. Spira decided it best to let it be for the time being, hoping Lee wouldn't say something in the next five minutes or so, leaving a sort of peace in the air. He hoped above all else that Lee wouldn't attack him, as that would almost definitely lead to bloodshed.

The one before him replied quickly to his comment, speaking about training and that since Lee had pointed it out, which he had not and it caused a slight bit of hesitant laughter but otherwise, he had gotten what he had asked for. There was a short silence in the air there after, one that Lee himself was not really sure what to do with. He looked to his feet and watched the water but it was simply just...water. It was possibly little over four minutes before Lee began to speak once again. "I've heard that training alone can provide good results...what kind of training are you doing? Could I join in?"

Lee was seeing two things here. If this one had a temper and just what kind of person did he find. For all he knew, this could be a powerful shinobi out for his life and just so happened to know where he was going to be today and plotted a clever ruse to capture him........or it could be some guy training...either was an option but he moved himself out of the water as he thought.

PostSubject: Re: A Time Around the Waterfall   A Time Around the Waterfall EmptyMon Aug 05, 2013 9:53 pm

My style of training is a bit different than that of a normal shinobi. If you want, you can help me catch a few fish for lunch. Spira, normally being the more level headed of the family, had found himself in a peculiar spot. He tensed for combat, wondering what Lee would do. There was something about him that was... unsettling to a point.

He began his attack run without hesitation, though, sweeping with one leg, sending one of the logs into a tumble, though it would be pushed up my Spira as he he lifted his leg, sending the log into something of a brief hovering state as he turned and jumped off of the larger log he'd set up behind him, knocking it over. As he launched, he went into a flip, firmly planting one foot into the airborne log, and jumping off of it, to reach the one he'd hung from a fairly high branch in a nearby tree.

As Spira flew through the air once more, he flipped forward, slamming his heel into the top of the hanging log, splitting the log in two, and being held in the air for a few more seconds as he spun, launching his one kunai at the halves of the split log, then another at the one on the ground, then the shuriken at the one he'd used for the double-jump, eventually landing on his feet again on the ground below.

Alright, nailed it! Spira celebrated for a short moment before realizing that Lee was still in the immediate area.

Lee continued to listen as he was being told that his training was not that normal to which interred him into wanting to know. He then offered to Lee if he wanted to help catch lunch. Lee figured it was not something that he would have a valid reason for denying so he was about to turn around before he stopped and watched Spira begin what Lee could only assume to be the training that he had spoken of prior. It seemed at first that it was going to be simple and straight forward taijutsu training with logs. But then the movements that came there after were fluid and almost gymnastic. His attention was most drawn when the use of tools entered into the fray against the wooden targets.

When Spira finally hit the ground for his landing, Lee continued to smile as Spira spoke about nailing it to which Lee would begin to slowly clap his hands together in a small amount of applauds "That was different, that much I can say but you pulled it off. Did you come up with the training regimen?"

PostSubject: Re: A Time Around the Waterfall   A Time Around the Waterfall EmptyThu Aug 08, 2013 3:18 am

Spira turned to face Lee as he clapped and asked about his training. Come up with it, I did, though there's generally more than that. This is a new bit of which will be added to my normal regimen. He then went back the the fallen logs, acquiring his tools. Even knowing Lee was watching him, he didn't really sense the man as a threat, rather, he seemed too friendly to attack him without a valid reason.

Once he'd secured the weapons in the pouch on his belt, he proceeded to the pond, using his chakra to stay on the waters surface as he crouched so he could reach the fish below, then activated his Bone Claw jutsu to protect his hands from the fish's sharp fins. Once a fish had gotten into range, his arm shot into the water and caught it, pulling it out of the water. So, you just gonna stand there all day? Spira wasn't the most patient of people, although he tried to keep cool.

Spira answered him with a straight enough answer to which Lee would nod his head in agreement. He watched as Spira began to gather the weapons he used from the logs and once he got said weapons from their places, he would return them to his pouch and then go from there, to the water, taking small strides over its water, looking down from the waters surface to which Lee though might have been a brighter idea to do instead of taking a nosedive.

He gave way to pause as he just simply stared at Spira as he watched him use something that looked familiar but couldn't rightly judge from the point of view. He watched as he shot his hand underwater to catch a fish and shortly after asked if Lee was just going to be standing there all day to which Lee would laugh lightly "Sorry, just lost in thought."

He walked out into the water, though unlike Spira, he would walk into the water, most fish that were even remotely near him, scattered from his steps underwater. He would go till he was knee deep in the water and just stand there with his hands underwater as if he was waiting for a fist to swim into his grip.

PostSubject: Re: A Time Around the Waterfall   A Time Around the Waterfall EmptySun Aug 18, 2013 9:09 pm

Spira looked at Lee with mild confusion, though felt that arguing about methods would be pointless to the extreme. Instead, he simply went about his business, shooting his hands into the water repeatedly until he'd caught around three fish. So tell me something Spira finally spoke again. One would assume that you're a shinobi from the way you entered into the scene, but I'm having trouble placing you, and I've never seen a coat like yours anywhere except when I've seen you on the streets looking lost.

Spira spoke in an inquisitive tone, while maintaining a friendly atmosphere. He'd hoped that Lee wouldn't take any offense, though he knew that if he were to attack, he'd be prepared to the best of his ability, seeing as his Bone Claw jutsu was a combat based jutsu to begin with. ...and another thing... Just because I feel you should know, I'm a Kaguya. As Spira said this, he wasn't thinking, feeling that because of that little bit of information, he would likely end up paying the price.

PostSubject: Re: A Time Around the Waterfall   A Time Around the Waterfall EmptyMon Aug 19, 2013 6:08 am

Lee kept his posture low as his hands would stay submerged under the water, his fingers keeping still as the water continued to move around his arms. His attention would be brought to Spira as he seemed to catch fish after fish, far better than Lee himself. Spira then began to speak and as he did, Lee went to catch a fish that had come closer to investigate his fingers but as his hands closed together and out of the water, they found themselves empty. Lee would look to Spira with his slit-like eyes and he would nod his head in agreement that he was indeed a shinobi but did not say anything so Spira could talk without interruption.

After he finished, Lee spoke "I'm originally from Hyougagakure. The clothes are more of a personal fashion statement." Lee lowered his hands back down into the water but gave way to pause as he heard the word Kaguya and slowly, he brought his body back up and into a straight posture and nodded his head "A Kaguya you say? I was actually wondering about that. I'm not sure how you feel about the situation but I have to wonder about something..."

As he said this, he brought his right hand over his shoulder and took hold of the sword hilt that was over his shoulder and he continued "How strong are your bones?" Lee would then lung himself into the air and into a front-flip that would bring himself down, his massive weapon coming straight down for the boy, the movements were straight forward and had no moves that were hard to follow so dodging would be an easy feat.

PostSubject: Re: A Time Around the Waterfall   A Time Around the Waterfall EmptyMon Aug 19, 2013 8:41 pm

As Spira saw Lee's reflection on the waters surface, he let out a small essence of a cross between a grunt and a sigh, turning sharply as he stood, bringing his left hand up to push the blade of the large sword away and bring up his own, the entire time swapping from his Bone Claw to his Dead Blade. As he completed the turn, he let out a short but fearsome roar, raising the Dead Blade to barely meet the man's neck without cutting him as he would guide Lee's sword to the water, and hopefully escape without harm.

Attacking me would solve nothing, and killing me would prove pointless, as the same goes the other way. We both have our own purposes in life, and killing each other would deny us those purposes. I am not your enemy, and you are not mine, thus this little showdown is pointless to the extreme.

Spira seemed to give a short speech as the water settled, talking in his most regal and authoritative manner. His heart was now pounding, and his mind racing, hoping that this would end peacefully as a simple bead of sweat rolled down the side of his face, his glare pointed directly at Lee, and his breathing slightly hastened.

Lee watched as his sword came down and within moments, it was sent beside Spira and into the water and a blade of bone was placed simple fragments from his neck and then, as everything began to settle, Spira spoke to him about just how useless the fighting between them was and how nothing could be gained and how nothing would come from their deaths. Lee would laugh hesitantly as he would very slowly raise a hand up in a surrendering-like posture as he would reply as the waters would calm down after the sudden burst of combat "Kill? Who said anything about killing? I didn't. How else would you know if you can protect yourself from a blade if you don't test it?"

He would then pause as his attention down toward the blade of bone that was below his head "You can't be completely against it either, ya'know? This isn't a peace-making ability you have."

Spira flinched at first, then closed his eyes, letting out a small, near silent sigh before he spoke. That ability itself needs not be of peace, rather the one who wields it. Your sword can act as a shield, a peace-maker so long as you yourself desire peace. As for myself, I do desire peace, however I know that the thought is unheard of, which is why, if necessary, I will stand against anyone who would disrupt that peace, even if it costs me my life.

Spira's speech continued, talking of peace, though there was a darker side of him, one that craved war more than anything. On the other hand, the side that was speaking was sincere, almost on the verge of crying because he knew that he would likely have to fight his sister at some point, and maybe even end up killing her in the process...

He brushed he thought aside, coming back to his senses, and disengaging his Dead Blade technique, beginning to walk away, speaking under his breath.

Lee would listen with no change in his facial expression, his smile ever present. He would make no mention to interrupt the one before him as he would go on about the way things could be used in such a way that they could be protective. When the bone would be withdrawn back into him and he would turn to walk away. Lee would raise a hand up in front of himself "Then what if I decided to stand against your peace~?" He would then raise his sword up and onto his back as he let his hands move lightning fast as three ripples in the water would raise from the water in front of him.

The water would raise up to form three more versions of himself, each with a sword of there own. Lee would then take his sword in his hand once again as a single water clone would dash its way toward Spira with sword in hand in an attempt to thrust the weapon into the man.

Wha..? He didn't even get to finish before realizing that he was under attack, a clone from the water on it's assault. He thought fast, sliding slightly to the side, then bouncing, using the size of the weapon to his advantage, one hand being used to guide his flip over the blade, the other, his right turning into, what he thought was Dead Blade, though when it came in contact with the clone's throat to take off it's head, he saw that it was tinted black, or so he thought, as he spun, bouncing off the sword into a flip, then landing on his feet. He'd taken a moment to examine Dead Blade, and felt that his inner darkness was to blame for what he saw.

To attack me like that out of nowhere... He said, looking back up at Lee, a fierce determination in his eyes. I don't want to hurt you, but if I must, I will bring you down, though I will not kill you. He had a sort of heroism in his voice, a tone that seemed all too grown for one at the age of seventeen. Somewhere in his mind, he had a beat, a drum, his Fighting Spirit rising. A fight was what he saw, and he felt that there was really no way around the sparring match. He a bit more upright, his new blade melting away as Bone Claw morphed around his arms while he dropped into an almost beastial stance, slouching slightly, low to the ground, arms at his sides, the claws pointing at Lee.

He wouldn't attack first, never did, never wanted to, though he felt his own smile coming across his face before he spoke. Besides, if I did kill you, I'd be out of a friend, now wouldn't I? The sarcasm was something he'd learned from his sister, trying to instigate the first move, the next attack to be thrown at him.

Lee would watch as the clone would go in and swing openly only to be countered and decapitated to which he would raise a free hand up to his own neck and slide a finger along a similar line as where the blade had gone but in a lighter overtone, opposed to the deadly one that had just happened to the clone. He would then watch as Spira looked at him with a new found determination but cut it short at not killing him which would cause him to let his hand drop from his neck in a bit of disappointment. He started to sound like one of those main characters in a show he would see on television.

It would look like he would not be the one to attack first and that it would be up to Lee himself to take the offensive to which he was more accustom too...that or simply killing from behind. He would send another clone out to the far right whilst the other would attack from ahead while he himself ran behind the water clone with a hand on the handle of the blade that rested on his shoulder. When the clones were close enough, he would aim to bring the sword up and over his shoulder, to bring it down to cleave the clone and Spira in two or so that is how he would aim for it to happen.

Spira saw the next attack, glancing between the two clones in a flash, standing upright. Time around him seemed to slow as he looked down, shaking his head. What a drag... He, disengaging Bone Claw, letting it melt away as he reached for his bag. He did still have the tools he'd picked up after his training, taking one shuriken and kunai, and hurling it at the clone in front of him, the shuriken like a halo floating just above it. I really hate fights like this. I though it would just be a sparring match but NO. He complained He really hated being put in a position where he'd have to kill a man, or die. He didn't like the option of dying, the other not much better.

He did feel it was time to end the sarcasm, and take his opponent seriously as he would likely try to kill him, bounding off to the side in a dash, leaping and rebounding from tree to tree, spawning two ivory colored kunai from his forearms before finding a branch to swing from, using it to guide his momentum upward, launching himself into the air. Just from the angle of his flight, one could tell he was travelling a bit, moving from the treeline towards the center of the pond.

At the very peak of his ascent, he was upside down, and launched the ivory bone blades at Lee, not to hit him, but to prove a point, to at least make him back off. He had no true intent to harm Lee in any way, but if push were to come to shove, then he felt there might be no choice. He knew that no matter what in a death match, it would end with him dead, and Lee, at the very least a bit tired.

The water clone that was attacked by the shuriken and kunai would let its sword come up to block them both but just as quickly as it had dodged, Lee's sword would come down and cleave the water clone in two and land where Spira had just been but due to the quickness of the bone user, the blade had missed its mark. The remaining water clone came to a stop and watched as Spira took off to the trees while Lee looked in the area where Spira was as if something was wrong but his smile only diminished slightly.

As the bone kunai were thrown at him, the water clone would place itself between Lee and the kunai with sword raised in his defense to defend against the attack, be it fatal or not. Lee would then pull his sword up and bringing it up and resting it on his shoulder. He would then turn around to look with his slit-like eyes as he would raise a hand up and wave to Spira "If you run, you'll just die tired." He would then run in the direction of Spira, his clone following suit just beside him and when they reach the tree that held Spira, the water clone would slide to a halt and bring its sword around to cleave the base of the tree so the tree would begin its fall, Lee looking up to watch where his quarry would flee too next, there are so many tree's in a forest but he wouldn't mind chopping a few of them down.

Are you insane?! Spira asked,  trying to maintain balance, though only being forced to another tree. It was a valid question as he landed on a new tree, looking down. Why are you trying to kill me?! This is completely unprecedented; not to mention pointless! He soon found himself on the run, leaping from tree to tree, continuing to try for answers. What would you get from my death?! What could you possibly attain from the death of a Genin?! A GENIN!  The situation had turned into a game of cat and mouse, Lee being the Cat with an enormous sword and Spira being the mouse.

However, upon remembering his mission, the task he'd sworn to complete, he finally stopped, standing on a branch high up off the ground, looking down, a vague sense of both annoyance and sadness coming over him. He knew if this kept up, he'd have let Lee destroy the entire forest, not to mention his favorite training spot. But if he were to face this opponent, he would surely die, unable to complete his task. He'd placed one hand on the trunk of the tree, so to keep balance, though as he felt no choice, he dropped from the branch, landing on his feet, beginning to walk towards Lee, the same shadow being cast over his face as if some part of him had conceded, and his inner darkness had taken over.

Let's make this fair... he said, a vague hero-esque tone in his voice, a faint hesitation. If we're going to fight, then we do this one on one. No clones. No tricks. He looked up at Lee, staring him in the eyes now, as if gazing into his soul. We settle this as Shinobi of our respective villages... As he said this, his right arm changed into what was originally though to be Dead Blade. No..it was indeed different. It was longer, and tinted black. Somewhere in his mind, he'd already named it, "Yami no ha" being the words he chose to describe it.

Something about him had changed, a darker presence about him now, a solemn voice, a faint aura of taught discipline and honor. When he spoke again, however, it was like a silence, a barely heard tone. You're move.

As his sanity was brought into question, Lee would watch as the Kaguya took a jump to another tree that he would just as quickly turn to cut into its side, cleaving through the wood easily till his sword would slice through to the other side. To the following question, he would actually take the time to speak as his water clone would cut the next tree that was used as a perch for Spira "I want to see you dead, I want to see you bleed, I want to test my sword, I want to for the sake of wanting. I wouldn't matter what your rank or skill, in battle the only thing that could possibly matter is the victor! People like that truly exist and for people who are not prepared..." He would pause as he and his clone would cut into the last tree before Spira would greet him on level ground.

"...death and blood and senselessness are all that really should exist." It was then that things were brought up about being fair, no clones or hidden jutsu but a true fight between one another. Lee continued to smile his smile as he would take his own sword in both his hands as his water clone would dissipate and he would then focus his mind to unless a burst of speed. His Shiden technique would let his sword thrust itself forward at high speeds at his foe but more toward one side where as his arm would be ready to strike at any opening that would be left for him to strike, aiming to toss his opponent with the strike.

Spira heard what was said, what Lee had just spouted. Death... blood... senselessness... he thought, trying to piece together what the man might have meant, though was distracted by the dissipating clone, however snapped to, finding Lee on the attack.

Not really sure what to do, he acted on instinct, his right arm shooting forth in a blur for a Genin, as if on an instinct. He wasn't sure why he acted in such a way, his body simply moved forth, the blade pointing right at Lee, Spira hoping he didn't just kill another person because of a mistake, a miscalculated misdirection. In the heat of the moment, however, he wasn't sure as he'd looked away, unable to feel any pressure, his body somewhat numb from a deep tingling sensation.

Did I... just... No... I couldn't...

Lee was surprised at the reaction of the Kaguya as the full brunt of the force from the jutsu was blocked by a weapon that would surely have pierced or cut him if not for the sudden activation of a special skill that was of his bloodline. The blade would come into contact with his body but would glance off as the cloth would be cut into but a dark red crimson would protect him from further harm. He would continue in his forward momentum would cause Spira to be sent off his feet but no where near the distance Lee had first thought to have.

Once the distance was created between the two, Lee would move his hands together and send them into a quick weave of signs as the water from the waterfall would flood out into a heavy and think mist that would engulf Spira and Lee respectively.

"That was surprising, you could have killed me and that would have hurt." His voice would speak from within the mist, his location becoming hidden within the jutsu but surely keeping his attention on the genin as he waited for an answer.
