Village News
The islands in Ocean Country have been celebrating the arrival of the next Umikage, Saizo. The long bridge leading to SHIPPUUGAKURE NO SATO has been closed for outsiders because they wish to celebrate this moment with Ocean Country natives only.
As usual, the Storm Country has been hosting the Asgard Games to welcome their Kanetsukage, Cornelia. It's a double special occasion because Cornelia is also the first female Kanetsukage. She has been picked for her courage, loyalty and outstanding power by the BOUFUUGAKURE NO SATO elders.
Not only that, but the Cherry Blossom Country has become relieved as well. It seems that everyone is slowly picking up after the war now. KUSAMURAGAKURE NO SATO proudly presented their new Sakurakage, Altair.
TSUKIGAKURE NO SATO is still thriving on the merchants coming in and out. They have not experienced anything special lately. Their wealth has remained the same as they were not forced to invest into shinobi unlike the others.
On the cold isles of the Blizzard Country, HYOUGAGAKURE NO SATO has still refused to create a free traveling policy. Some habits never change. To protect their traditions, they have even warned outsiders to not interfere with their matters.
Now that everyone is picking up again, who will come out on top?

Missions were the tasks that a ninja would be sent on to earn himself some nice money and, for the right case, a little bit of respect by his fellow men. There are many missions a man could be made to do for the village. You could perhaps be a courier for a gift of great important to some far off glittering village that few others get to see, or you could maybe be the man tasked with protecting an envoy going deep into enemy territory to try and broker a peace treaty. So many great things in this world that you could be ordered to do, glory and honor seeping through the very air as it's happening, and what did Kara get for one of his missions? What did one of the strongest ninjas in the entire village, the resident tailed beast, get sent to do? Walk a dog. Yep, that's right, the great Turtle Elder was being sent to walk a dog. Of course, he was not going to be complaining about a mission like this, it was calming and pleasant and gave him a chance to get away from the village so that he could think about the world, but he knew at the back of his mind that somewhere back in the village, two drunk people would be laughing about the fact that they saw the great Nanabi walk a dog for money. Not that other people had ever mattered to him, and the dog at the end of the leash was adorable, but he knew that that was happening. The soothing voice of his grandfather told him that, if it didn't matter, why was he thinking about it? Of course, he didn't know, it seemed like his brain went off on it's own little trails sometimes, whether he wanted it to or not.

The glade itself was a very strange place compared to the rest of the jungle. Where everywhere else there was dense forest, grass up to your knees that you could hide in if you fell over, there were no trees here and the grass was barely foot high. It looked, all the world, like a very well placed garden. He was glad that there were places like this around the jungle. It was filled with dangerous beasts, things that he knew that he could beat if push came to shove although he wasn't sure how well the dog would be able to hold up. He was getting paid as much to protect the dog as he was to make sure that the dog was walked, apparently. Not for the first time, he envied people who lived in the safer, more normal villages like Shippuugakure and Tsukigakure, they could have pets without the nagging doubt that they could get eaten at any time. The owner, a rather kind and quiet girl who was only a few years older than him judging by her appearance, seemed to have the same line of thought, and a minor thought occurred to him about where exactly she got a dog like this. They were in the middle of a dense jungle, a jungle so dense that his grandfather hadn't even been spotted even though he had been hiding just a few hundred meters away for the last thirty years. The dog in question was apparently named "biscuit". They named a sentient animal after a food. Biscuit ate biscuits. That was somehow wonderful yet confusing at the same time. Not that he seemed to care, walking along next to him, his tail wagging so fast it appeared just for a moment like he might use it like the blades of a helicopter and fly off into the sky.
