Village News
The islands in Ocean Country have been celebrating the arrival of the next Umikage, Saizo. The long bridge leading to SHIPPUUGAKURE NO SATO has been closed for outsiders because they wish to celebrate this moment with Ocean Country natives only.
As usual, the Storm Country has been hosting the Asgard Games to welcome their Kanetsukage, Cornelia. It's a double special occasion because Cornelia is also the first female Kanetsukage. She has been picked for her courage, loyalty and outstanding power by the BOUFUUGAKURE NO SATO elders.
Not only that, but the Cherry Blossom Country has become relieved as well. It seems that everyone is slowly picking up after the war now. KUSAMURAGAKURE NO SATO proudly presented their new Sakurakage, Altair.
TSUKIGAKURE NO SATO is still thriving on the merchants coming in and out. They have not experienced anything special lately. Their wealth has remained the same as they were not forced to invest into shinobi unlike the others.
On the cold isles of the Blizzard Country, HYOUGAGAKURE NO SATO has still refused to create a free traveling policy. Some habits never change. To protect their traditions, they have even warned outsiders to not interfere with their matters.
Now that everyone is picking up again, who will come out on top?

War Preparations:

His day had started out very slow. Rin had woken up, cooked himself up a nice breakfast to eat, then headed out for his daily shenanigans as a Shippuugakure Chuunin. He'd seen a badly damaged ship pull into the Harbour on his way toward the Administration Office to receive his next assignment, but it was common nowadays. With the growing presence and threat of Piracy that plagued the Ocean Country, seeing such a sight was a growing norm in the village. But apparently, that was about to change.

Rin had been ordered to oversee and aid the fortification and preparation of one of their war vessels for battle. What better way to combat the threat of piracy than to use their own battleships, after all! The teenager arrived back at the Ao Phalanx Harbour, the docking pier that he had passed earlier. It seemed as though another squad had been tasked with the repair of the damaged ship Rin had watched pull in earlier, which he found amusing. It seemed like the shinobi, being bred for combat and war, were doing the menial tasks while all the fishermen and crews were out fighting the threat. At any rate, he approached the massive war vessel he was meant to help fortify.

Well. Fuck.” Rin said as he admired the size of the boat. He'd of been amazed if he knew he wasn't about to spend his afternoon beefing the thing up for war. “That's a big fuckin' boat.” he said aloud again.

A large pile of metal plating, fasteners, and various tools were organized on the docks beside the boat. The plating would surely weigh the buoyant vessel down with ease, possibly throwing it underwater completely, so Rin assumed the floaters that were placed next to the file were to keep it afloat. “H'oi! Is this the Kuchiku-kan?” Rin called out to the busy crew on board. He received a response from a deck hand, who confirmed his question.

According to the instructions he had been given, all Rin had to do was set up the plating for this particular vessel. He rolled his sleeves up, brutally slammed his sword into the wooden dock's floorboards to keep it in place, and went to work. He picked up one sheet of the heavy metal plating, as well as a hammer and multiple fasteners, and channeled a bit of chakra into his hands and feet. He grasped the side of the boat and positioned the plating over the most exposed part of the vessel, then used the fasteners and hammer to drive it into place. It only took about four rivets to keep it from moving, and then another on each of the sides to hold it firmly in place. The plate seemed to only cover a small percentage of the boat, so Rin would be working for quite a while.

He repeated the process countless times. Sheet after sheet of the thick metal plating was picked up, hauled over, and then brutally driven into place with the hammer. By the time Rin was finished putting each of the plates into place, the damn thing looked like a tank that was barely afloat. He worked rather quickly with attaching the floaters to the boat. He took special care in avoiding the sea that tossed the heavy plated boat around when attaching the special equipment that would keep the damn thing afloat long enough to see combat. “Alright, aaand.. done!” he chimed happily as he finished. He would have no more fooling around that close to the water, at least not if it was up to him! Rin grasped one of the two hilts of his blade and secured it on his back again before waving to the crew and setting off in search of his payment.
