Village News
The islands in Ocean Country have been celebrating the arrival of the next Umikage, Saizo. The long bridge leading to SHIPPUUGAKURE NO SATO has been closed for outsiders because they wish to celebrate this moment with Ocean Country natives only.
As usual, the Storm Country has been hosting the Asgard Games to welcome their Kanetsukage, Cornelia. It's a double special occasion because Cornelia is also the first female Kanetsukage. She has been picked for her courage, loyalty and outstanding power by the BOUFUUGAKURE NO SATO elders.
Not only that, but the Cherry Blossom Country has become relieved as well. It seems that everyone is slowly picking up after the war now. KUSAMURAGAKURE NO SATO proudly presented their new Sakurakage, Altair.
TSUKIGAKURE NO SATO is still thriving on the merchants coming in and out. They have not experienced anything special lately. Their wealth has remained the same as they were not forced to invest into shinobi unlike the others.
On the cold isles of the Blizzard Country, HYOUGAGAKURE NO SATO has still refused to create a free traveling policy. Some habits never change. To protect their traditions, they have even warned outsiders to not interfere with their matters.
Now that everyone is picking up again, who will come out on top?

Fire and Chameleons. A mentor meets a pupil. Empty

In the middle of the glade, as the sun hit his form, Kotetsu Bunraku stood motionless before a large slab of bark from a sakura tree. It stood, only a bit shorter than he was, wedged firmly in the ground. It was as wide as his shoulders, and obviously about to become a canvas.

Kotetsu stayed with his eyes closed, his hands in the tiger hand seal, focusing his chakra. His face was emotionless, and obviously deep in thought about the creation about to take form.

Suddenly Kotetsu's eyes snapped open, alert and locked in front of him. He grabbed the slab of bark before him, and tossed it easily twenty feet into the air, spinning like a Fuuma Shuriken. Immediately after, two kunai flew from his hands. They stabbed into the top right and bottom left corners of his canvas, stopping it's rotation. His hands flew into the handsigns with the expected speed of a shinobi, so that he could perform his Oil Fountain Technique.

He spewed forth a fountain of thick black liquid as the bark fell. It's precision was astounding, as a messy sketch began to take form. Right now it looked like little more than a five year old's finger painting, but Kotetsu was far from finished.

The bark had fallen about halfway now, but the wind caught it. There was plenty of room between it and the trees, so his next move had no danger of lighting the jungle ablaze. He threw his hands into hasty handsigns, but adequate enough. Nothing sloppy.

"Fire style, fire ball jutsu!" Kotetsu yelled, before putting the tiger hand seal to his lips and spewing forth an impressive sized ball of flame, which didn't engulf the canvas but rather touched the surface with an amazing amount of control. Kotetsu calculated the distance need just enough to catch the oil, and only singe the surface of his canvas without burning it black.

Before the fireball had even faded, he began handsigns for his favorite physical Ninjutsu. The body flicker technique. His form seemed to dissappear, even to a well trained shinobi's eyes. his already C rank speed was amplified. He appeared on the other side of the fire ball, and the bark had been thrown back by the wave of heat from the Great Fireball Technique.

Kotetsu ripped the kunai from the front of the canvas, and held them backward in each hand. The fireball was completely gone, and the oil still ablaze in the air. It was suspended about eye level, and just began to fall before he took a flurry of slashes and kept it from lowering in the air. His body remained motionless, his face stone with a wild smile. His arms were invisible to the naked eye. The slashes grabbed the oil and spread it throughout, but Kotetsu moved to fast to be burned. Only light scratches shown in the wood.

After about thirty seconds of this, he seemed to be making finishing touches, focusing on only small amounts of area at a time. Finally he stopped, releasing his jutsu and letting the canvas fall to the ground. He returned the kunai to his weapon holster, and panted with exhaustion. A smile still plastered on his face. He fell onto his butt, sitting with a look of satisfaction without even needing to see his work. Which was beautiful, by the way.

It shown a lone sakura tree on a hill top expanding to the right, singed into the wood. Drops of oil had been splattered into the way the wind seemed to blow in the painting, and burned black sakura petals into the wood. A haiku had been scratched without oil into the side with open air. The entire work was incredibly detailed given the way it was made. The haiku read:

Sakura Blossom
Drenched in a Shinobi's Blood
How is it You Bloom
