She had been pretty sure she would have gotten the upper-hand on her new sensei with her sudden switch in attack. She was right about his physical skills, he was talented, talented enough to time her attack perfectly to perform a backflip. Even with a bruised side from her prior strike, he still had enough muscle and mental fortitude to perform a near impossible feat and then counter her as she rushed him. Amazing! I didn't know someone could dodge a projectile in such a way!

She had rushed him though, and she was already too close to pull away. His reversed position made it easy for him to trip her up- across his leg went and tripped her feet as she tried to slow herself down and leap over his leg at the last second. Too late. His trip had been successful and Ren stumbled, she took two awkward steps and then fell forward. She out-stretched her hands to brace herself from the ground- she scraped her hands and arms on the grow but managed to continue her fall into a roll as she rolled forward and landed back on her feet. Her back was turned to Kazu, and she turned quickly to try to evade for a possible counter.
