Village News
The islands in Ocean Country have been celebrating the arrival of the next Umikage, Saizo. The long bridge leading to SHIPPUUGAKURE NO SATO has been closed for outsiders because they wish to celebrate this moment with Ocean Country natives only.
As usual, the Storm Country has been hosting the Asgard Games to welcome their Kanetsukage, Cornelia. It's a double special occasion because Cornelia is also the first female Kanetsukage. She has been picked for her courage, loyalty and outstanding power by the BOUFUUGAKURE NO SATO elders.
Not only that, but the Cherry Blossom Country has become relieved as well. It seems that everyone is slowly picking up after the war now. KUSAMURAGAKURE NO SATO proudly presented their new Sakurakage, Altair.
TSUKIGAKURE NO SATO is still thriving on the merchants coming in and out. They have not experienced anything special lately. Their wealth has remained the same as they were not forced to invest into shinobi unlike the others.
On the cold isles of the Blizzard Country, HYOUGAGAKURE NO SATO has still refused to create a free traveling policy. Some habits never change. To protect their traditions, they have even warned outsiders to not interfere with their matters.
Now that everyone is picking up again, who will come out on top?

Two girls, one shop.(Vex & Miyuki) Empty
PostSubject: Two girls, one shop.(Vex & Miyuki)   Two girls, one shop.(Vex & Miyuki) EmptyFri May 09, 2014 9:55 am

Vex sat at the bar and sipped on a concentrated sour juice: she wasn't old enough for alcoholic beverages- besides, she refrained from them. She was reckless enough as it was. Genin were allowed in this bar, but under monitoring and clear identifications that they were underaged: chances are they wouldn't have been able to stop her from entering the bar regardless of age restriction. The looks she could give people, especially males- was enough to make your heart stop cold from fear and end any debates you might have had with her.

She was a beauty, but also a fiery passionate soul who loved the blessed female anatomy like an art and despised men like they were the black death. Her long white hair cascaded down her shoulders and stopped near her waist, her hair matched her eyes- a heavenly pure white. To the average onlooker, it would appear as if Vex didn't have pupils, just white orbs in her eye sockets... but there was a pale circular ring that separated her pupils from the "white" of her eyes. This strange exotic beauty combo of hair and eyes made her quite attractive when set against her porcelain colored fair skin and slender blessed body.

An angel she had heard many times, often followed by a correction of "devil" or "demon" if it had been a praiseful comment by a male. Even now, she was sipping fervently on the strong sour juice in her cup as she ignored a pair of men not three seats from her who were checking her out and making indecent comments about her. The bartender eyed her warily, he knew who she was: she visited here from time to time and was akin to any Rankujo with a temper who would destroy building property in a raging fit to harm whoever had offended them. He passed her another free drink.

This was the only thing keeping her from exploding and slicing up the bartender's wooden chairs, tables and benches with her swords: both her and Vex knew it. Normally she didn't like males, but the bartender was "tolerable" because he understood her unusual and unexpected latent power and just how bad her temperament was. He had repaired the shop extensively at least four different times from her visits, twice in one day! So the free drinks he offered her to appease the inner demon was much appreciated by her. She till cast a few hateful glances at the two men and let it be known to them that she did not appreciate their lewd conversation. If they left around the same time as her... the bartender probably wouldn't be seeing them for over a week. Due to hospital bed rest and what have you.

Hmm Hmmm~ You're doing surprisingly well at controlling your rage, Vexxy~~ I would have expected you to explode by now and at least slice one of their arms off or something! The way the red spirit orb said that last part sounded like he was somewhat disappointed, a very possible case. She ignored the spirit that was invisible to everyone else except other Xanadu clansmen and people who had experienced death themselves. Normally those people had been people who died and were brought back right away using Ijutsu to save their lives. Something about the threshold of death that allowed them to see some spirits... and interesting concept Vex had considered a few times, but she had seen enough spirits already. Wrath was a handful. The red spirit orb never knew how to shut up and was always tempting her to do something violent or psychotic.

It was inevitable really. Certainly becoming an official genin brought with it many obligations but it also carried a sort of emancipated minor status. All shinobi from the rank of genin on up no matter their actual age were considered, in a way, adults with pretty much all the same rights and responsibilities that adulthood carried. It was considered by some to be only fair after all; if one was old enough to die or kill for their village then one was old enough to do things like live on their own or go to a bar after a mission. The reality of it was less cut and dried though.

However, in the light of this new status had arisen a tradition of sorts where the new genin, giddy of their new quasi-adult status and the ability to do things that their same age non-ninja comrades couldn't went to a bar simply because they now could. Which is why Miyuki found herself walking into Loki's Delight. She was nervous of course, not knowing what to expect having never been a bar - let alone this particular one - before.

She needn't have been so nervous. Despite its outward appearance and Miyuki's own expectations (mostly taken from books, tv, and movies), Loki's Delight was actually very welcoming with its bright colors and (mostly) cheerful atmosphere. The patrons already there seemed reputable (the ninja definition of reputable anyway) and friendly enough which was a good thing. The red orb hovering around the white haired woman at the bar was a bit... disconcerting... in ways that Miyuki couldn't quite place but then again her jonin sensei kinda literally did have eyes in the back of his head and she could do an imitation of a corpse so well that she'd run the risk of being cremated alive so she didn't really have room to talk there.

After getting her hand by the bouncer, she made her way to the bar itself and signaled for the bartender's attention.

Vex had just drank her third on her concentrated sour juice and listened to the lewd remarks the men were making: she was a cold calculative girl who was mature beyond her age.... but even her ears were turning slightly red with embarrassment. She gripped the edge of the bar tightly until her knuckles had whitened. Any more and she probably wouldn't be able to control herself any longer; she would turn into a berserking demon even without using her sword Wrath for the transformation!

To the spirit Wrath, the red orb floating around her, it was all too amusing. Though his amusement shifted when the door opened, as a spiritual being, he was able to tell when someone was actually watching him. His little spirit orb body turned completely around and noticed a peculiar girl eyeing him warily before she approached the bar and signaled for the bartender's attention. Huuu~ Now there is something you don't see everyday! Finally, another person who can se and hear me!

At the sound of excitement and interesting words, Vex turned her near-rage attention to the girl who had recently entered. She was a genin and underaged even... taking advantage of a perk for her beginner's rank: it was somewhat funny but also cute. The bartender would be hesitant but he wouldn't deny the girl a drink. Vex was curious as to what kind of drinker this girl was... maybe she was a heavy drinker with a rage fit, or maybe a light drinker with a klutz nature?

She swiveled her chair around to watch the girl not but a few seats away from her: unfortunately this movement had given the perverted men on her other side, a much better look at the form of her butt. The effect was immediate and Vex's face deepened to a dangerous shade of red when she realized her mistake. The spirit Wrath, had been too preoccupied with the strange girl to notice the dangerous color of Vex's face. The last time she had been this embarrassed, she had gone into the sword Wrath's berserked mode without even touching the blade. The weapon had still been attached to her back and dragged across the floor as she rushed about, pummeling people until their faces were bloody and unrecognizable. That fit had been easier to escape though because she wasn't actually holding the sword in her hands.

Vex reached up with her right hand onto the handle of Chastity instead of Wrath; she unclipped it and swung it around behind her and over her head and then stabbed it downwards into the hardwood floor. Both glasses the men had been drinking from were sliced cleanly in half and now the giant fan blade blocked their view of Vex. Likely this had caught a lot of attention, but Vex was only interested in one person's attention. She looked back to Miyuki as if explaining. Some unwanted attention was bothering me. Hello there, what's your name?

The bartender breathed a sigh of relief as he realized his bar had averted assured disaster that evening. It was enough! He gave the two men fresh glasses of alcohol and then briskly shuffled them to the door and "helped" them out despite their protesting. It was easier to kick them out rather than Vex Xanadu.

Wrath floated closely to Vex as she begin to speak to the unusual girl, his red eyes studying her carefully. I don't get to meet many people who can actually see or hear me: I bet you've experienced a near-state of death before huh? In his own way, Wrath was honest but rude.

Surprisingly all that Miyuki ordered was some tea. Perhaps other genin, flush with the promise of their new semi-adult status would immediately go for something forbiddenly alcoholic simply because they now could, but quite frankly Miyuki failed to see the attraction. This was only natural though; growing up, her parents had had a very casual attitude towards alcohol. Not heavy drinkers themselves, they saw nothing wrong with letting her have the occasional taste from their glasses (usually sake or beer rather than some of the harder stuff) and didn't bother to demonize the stuff (but only for those who had yet to reach that magical age where it apparently went from pure poison to kami-sama's own drink). So to Miyuki alcohol was just another drink option, albeit one that people had funny ideas about.  All of this just meant that Miyuki lacked the drive to dive right into the world of drinking now that she was legally ale to that too many people it seemed had. And anyway, she just plain old felt like having some tea damnit! Part of being an adult (to her) was being able to say that, no, she wouldn't go for that drink just because.

However, Vex's little bit of violence had her wondering if this little trip was a good idea or not for other reasons. Of all the elements of the Full Bar Experience, the Bar Fight was not one she was looking to be a part of. True she could defend herself quite admirably (at least against drunk civilians with little to no ninja training) but she'd honestly rather not. Carefully eyeing Vex (she really didn't want to set off the apparently volatile woman), she answered quietly. "Hasegawa Miyuki."

The red orb's question had her blinking as she wasn't sure how to answer it. She hadn't nearly died, as far as she could tell. Maybe there had been a close call when she'd been a baby; some sort of mishap in the cradle where she'd stopped breathing without activating her kekkei genkai first (her step mother always liked to remind her that it had manifested pretty much from the time she was born and had led to not a few scares where some poor caretaker had thought she'd been a victim of crib death. "Umm... I don't think so..."

Hmmm a name she had not been familiar with in the village, this girl was curious and also somewhat wary of Vex- for good reason. Though she seemed less concerned about actually being able to see the spirit Wrath; which intrigued Vex even more. This girl seemed to have some apathetic attributes about her, but she was interested in her own way. Vex noted that the girl had ordered tea rather than an alcoholic beverage, Vex was a bit surprised that this girl had decided to forego the pleasure of alcohol for something more common and not so hyped up on importance by peer-pressure.

Vex glanced at Wrath and felt a little pitty for him, his first social interaction in a long time and the girl wasn't even seeming to be somewhat interested in the idea of a floating talking spirit. I see, well- you are one of the very few people who can see my spirits: though Chastity likes to hide more than anything, so I doubt you will see it unless it wants to be seen.

Bahahaa! That pansy spirit, always so calm and smart... but so embarrassed and shy- it makes me ashamed to be paired with it. Wrath was verbalizing his displeasure at the idea of being paired with a gentle caring spirit when he was merciless and reckless.

"Oh." Miyuki said simply; there really wasn't much more she could've said. She'd learned early on that some people got a bit testy when it came to talking about their kekkei genkai (hell, she'd gotten utterly sick of being pestered by classmates to show off hers. She resented being treated like a trick pony quite quickly), so she tried not to push the issue no matter how cool or weird she found a person's kekkei genkai to be. That wasn't to say that she wasn't interested in the whole not quite real orb thing, or wasn't curious as to what this 'Chastity' was like, only that she wasn't going to make a pest of herself about it. Especially since both Vex and Wrath gave off vibes of being generally hostile.

And having nothing she felt it was right to say, she decided to let the silence between them grow and sip at her tea.

Regardless of whether or not Vex and Wrath were curious about this weird girl, she did not seem that interested in them and gave off vibes that made Vex feel that she was interrupting the girl's mood. Wrath understood her feelings, he shrugged his metaphorical shoulders and returned to silently watching. This interesting person had turned out to be quite boring: most people who could see him were either highly curious about him or just freaked out- both outcomes were highly enjoyable for him.

If you will excuse me, it was nice to meet you. With that Vex paid for her drink to the bartender and left the bar. She kicked rocks outside the door, that event had turned out quite boring.
