Village News
The islands in Ocean Country have been celebrating the arrival of the next Umikage, Saizo. The long bridge leading to SHIPPUUGAKURE NO SATO has been closed for outsiders because they wish to celebrate this moment with Ocean Country natives only.
As usual, the Storm Country has been hosting the Asgard Games to welcome their Kanetsukage, Cornelia. It's a double special occasion because Cornelia is also the first female Kanetsukage. She has been picked for her courage, loyalty and outstanding power by the BOUFUUGAKURE NO SATO elders.
Not only that, but the Cherry Blossom Country has become relieved as well. It seems that everyone is slowly picking up after the war now. KUSAMURAGAKURE NO SATO proudly presented their new Sakurakage, Altair.
TSUKIGAKURE NO SATO is still thriving on the merchants coming in and out. They have not experienced anything special lately. Their wealth has remained the same as they were not forced to invest into shinobi unlike the others.
On the cold isles of the Blizzard Country, HYOUGAGAKURE NO SATO has still refused to create a free traveling policy. Some habits never change. To protect their traditions, they have even warned outsiders to not interfere with their matters.
Now that everyone is picking up again, who will come out on top?

Description: Our intelligence division has pinpointed another rogue ninja in the village. They need you to track him down and eliminate him before he becomes a threat.

Semasu Rankujo was sitting at a donut shop, not just any donut shot the donut shop. This was the very first donut shop Semasu could remember being introduced to: thus starting her weird but enjoyable obsession of eating insane amounts of donuts. Just thinking about that first memory of the warm and soft outside and the gooey transcendent flavor of the jelly on the inside- made Semasu very hungry. She turned to the chef inside the booth and noticed him frying some fresh donut batter; he noticed her gaze and understood immediately, Semasu Rankujo was their number one customer after all. He side-stepped over near her and asked what she would like from the menu today; Semasu still had a bag full of donuts, but she wanted to save those for later- right now she was afforded the opportunity to increase her limited stock and knowledge of donuts.

I think I'll try the chocolate filled cherry bread donuts today. Give me two pounds of them please.

The chef nearly tumbled backwards at her demand, he paled slightly but didn't mind so much. It was thanks to this girl that his business was standing firmly on its feet still, that order would be difficult and take some time to fill out. He smiled to reassure her and jotted down her order and placed it on the spin wheel for the crew to see and start working on while he took care of the more "manageable" orders.

With Semasu's minor task underway, she turned back to the streets and watched the people who passed by; she was looking for someone. She always kept her senses sharp, especially when near donut shops- she way she could smell exactly how the donuts were made and what ingredients were used in them. It was an awarding necessity, she occasionally discovered new tastes and recipes this way. This was not her goal today however, although she subconsciously enjoyed and noted the donuts being made. Today she was looking for somebody particular, a man to be precise; one that had the information she desired so she could accomplish her mission without much difficulty.

Ah, I see you are already here... and it looks like you've had enough time to order a proper feast... you always arrive so early no matter how quickly I try to get here. That eager for battle, are we?

Semasu turned back abruptly to regard the man sitting beside her and eating a pastry, he had snuck into the seat without her noticing. It was a game the two of them played quite often, and they thoroughly enjoyed it. He would try to beat her there, and she would try to spot him before he actually arrived. This man was Nempo, a brilliant strategist, info broker and life long friend of Semasu's. They had first met on Semasu's days as a Genin, she would occasionally find difficult missions and would be in need of information: naturally she didn't have the kind of ryo Nempo required for info, so he made a trade with her.

Nempo was an avid pastry fan and was constantly looking to try new kinds of pastries and donuts; it was his secret weakness and Semasu had learned  and used it to her advantage. Nempo was a short man of average weight but a little fat in the face from his over-indulgence, he had short black hair and blue eyes. His normal appearance gave him the candid ability to be incognito in many circumstances- thus increasing his probability of gathering useful information.

I trust you have the information we previously discussed earlier today? Remember, if the information is lacking- I'll cut the payment by half.

Nempo nodded his agreement, it was his policy after all, to provide accurate and useful information at all times. He didn't fear his payment, he was certain the information he had garnished would be sufficient; he was thoroughly looking forward to the delicious combination Semasu had requested today. Few people in the world had quite the intelligent taste buds as Semasu did, she had ways of knowing how well tastes would mix- it was a delightful surprise every time to Nempo.

Of course my information is good; have I ever given you useless information?

Semasu's mind automatically went back to one f their first business encounters and Nempo knew the look on her face- it told him exactly which time she was using for probable cause. When she was a Genin, she had often went to old people' houses and helped them find their lost pets. On one occasion, she was having a terrible time finding a cat and had to come to Nempo for help. He assured her he knew which cat she was looking for and even had its recent sightings; she had given him the golden deep-fried donuts with blueberry goodness on the inside- it was a big mistake. Not only did he eat all twelve of the donuts, but the cat belonged to another couple who berated Semasu for "stealing" their precious Pooker. Naturally Semasu couldn't get a "refund" for the payment she had given Nempo- so now she was always stingy with the payments and always asked for the very best of his information gathering skills.

He tossed a small envelope over to her part of the shop's single table, Semasu opened the envelope and pulled out two photos and a hand written scrap of paper. The first photo was her target diligently at work in a shipping dock, he seemed like a normal honest man making an honest living. The second photo told the truth of the matter however, the photo was taken when the target was "eliminating" people who were associated with the dock; likely the target was trying to establish a solid foothold in the village so he could carry out other nefarious deeds. The third object, the hand written scrap of paper was an itinerary of the target's usual activities throughout the days- the target himself had provided Semasu with a valuable bit of information by writing down his own plans.

This was enough, a solid bit of information indeed and Nempo was worthy for the full payment; his smug smile told her that he already knew as much and was waiting. The two pounds of chocolate and cherry donuts ere ordered then and Semasu paid the chef, she requested the two pounds be split into two bags; which she then proceeded to give one pound to Nempo. A victory smile was upon her lips as she held the other bag in her hands, she had thought out this meeting and had ordered enough in advance to sate Nempo's appetite and provide her with fresh yummy donuts as well. Nempo knew she was a worthy opponent indeed when to came to "give and take" on information bargains.

Don't eat all of those at once, the chocolate will make you sick. Luckily for me, food doesn't make me sick.. for fat

She put emphasis on that last word and then disappeared into the bustle of the busy street. The ledger Nempo provider her revealed that her target would likely be finished moving crates of good off a cargo ship and into a warehouse recently; by the time she would get there, he would be finished and near the empty part of the docks. She glanced up at the sunlight that was still fairly bright, but showed slight signs of waning. She had plenty of time to carry out this mission, she figured that by the time the moon came up and revealed the true beauty of Tsukigakure, she would have accomplished her mission and be reveling in her victory donuts.

The docks

Semasu stepped lightly onto the wooden planking used for the docks, these boards had seen much travel and likely some combat: today she would add both of those variables to the wood's lifetime. Up ahead was her target, his name was Jokein; although she never tried to learn the names of potential targets, in case she had to eliminate them- this reduced the chance of emotions becoming involved. Jokein was a tall man with thick muscles, it was obvious that he was a trained shinobi by his gait; his movements were fluid and un-hindered by normally heavy crates.

He was alone now, enjoying a tobacco product from one of the nearby shops likely; he was out on the far end of the empty docks, near the edge of the water. How careless. It was unnecessary to introduce yourself to targets assigned to be eliminated; this reduced the chance for them to escape or retaliate if the assassination failed.

She clenched her fists in resolution and took the opportunity to strike while her foe was unguarded and had his back turned; oblivious to his danger. Even if he was offguard, she would still treat him with caution- reckless caution, but still with a bit of care. She performed her hand seals quickly and silently as she stared intently at Jokein. Her body shifted suddenly and she immediately charged Jokein at full speed; she reached out with a solid left hook even as he turned to face her. His facial expression told him that he was surprised but still prepared; his quick reflexes saved him from a direct harmful blow, but his leading arm was still struck by Semasu's fist.

He pedaled backwards and managed to get his back towards the ground not so far away from the docks, his plan was to get in a more favorable position and strike back until he could escape. He didn't plan to fight all the way near the docks; he had plans for this place, plus he didn't want to get noticed by any shinobi guards around the area.

His retreat was too revealing and Semasu could guess along his line of reasoning easily enough, enough so that she pressed her assault on the slowly retreating target. Her sudden ferocity caught him off-guard and he suffered two direct blows, one from her left hook and the other from her opposite leading twist-kick. That second strike knocked him back further in his favored direction, he was relieved slightly, thinking now was his chance to escape.

His attempt at escaping was foiled however, Semasu had taken in the surrounding area and guessed safely what methods this Nukenin would take. When he turned suddenly to flee, Another Semasu erupted from the sand by the shore. The entrance of the second Semasu bewildered Jokein slightly and caused him to hesitate- the second Semasu performed a mid-air summersault kick in Jokein's moment of hesitation and sent him flying upwards and backwards. The first Semasu took advantage of the opportunity of her foe being completely offguard; she leaped into the air and latched onto the Nukenin from behind and held him tight.

He attempted to free himself as they fell, but to no avail, he couldn't even turn properly to look at the first Semasu: it didn't matter, the first Semasu suddenly exploded in the air, along with the target. The limp figure of her target crashed violently into the surface of the water a long ways off shore, his impact against the surface of the water had been solid because of his velocity and he sank mere seconds afterwards. Immediately Semasu followed after him in the water, she kept an eye on his limp body as it sank, just to be sure he didn't try to be sneaky if he hadn't been completely defeated by that point-blank explosion and impact to the water.

She reached his body mere seconds later and checked his pulse underwater; no pulse and his mouth was taking in too much water. Cause of death was likely drowning, an indirect outcome of her attack. She hauled his body back onto the land and found a couple of the shinobi guards; they called in a stretcher and medical nins to take the body away and examine it. Semasu's job was accomplished just as the sun hit the horizon and began to sink beneath sight. She traversed a distance to her small house and sat upon the rooftop as she enjoyed her victory donuts; a treat indeed. The death of the Nukenin didn't bother her, it was his decisions that had placed him in the unlucky circumstance. First and foremost, he was a shinobi and all shinobi were destined to die in battle at some point.

She enjoyed her pound of victory donuts without much other thoughts, tomorrow was a new day; a day she would go back to the kage and report her success. Success was an important part of any mission, not only did you survive, but you would also get paid! Ryo was something everybody could use more of, and especially in Semasu's case- there was something quite specific she was saving up towards and was working very hard to get the right amount.

Her legendary sword made travel very easy, she could be in any place she needed no matter the distance; this gave her the ability to choose from missions which provided a good amount of ryo but was normally too bothersome to do. She tapped the sword across her back lightly, she could feel it react to her touch; she could feel its desire to travel to unseen places and discover new things.

That was another story for another day however; today an assassination, tomorrow maybe a delivery! Who knew what the morning might bring, Semasu was determined to carry out a delivery mission just as serious as an assassination mission; they were all the same to her- another day, another dollar(or ryo in this case) It felt good to know that her actions affected her village's growth, even if it wasn't noticeable or important; every small task accomplished was just a part of the bigger picture where everyone worked together to keep their village alive. Any support she could provide to he village, she would, and she was glad to help. She enjoyed seeing her kage's work loads lessened so that he could enjoy life some.

He was always doing paperwork, whether meaningful or seemingly quite useless. He accomplished both kinds with a vigor befit a leader, even if it was followed by feelings of dread and desire for the day to be over with. She admired Eden-Sama, enough so that she appreciated his ideals and actions; her desire was to become somebody important and powerful enough to one day protect her kage- likely as a member of ANBU or just being assigned personally as Eden-Sama's bodyguard. Either way, she thoroughly enjoyed the idea and looked forwards to the opportunity; all of her hard work was paying off, her skills were becoming more potent and her ryo was starting to shape up into something decent. She knew she still had a long ways to go though, but that didn't bother her, she looked forwards to the opportunities to prove herself in challenging situations and prevail as the stronger one.
