Village News
The islands in Ocean Country have been celebrating the arrival of the next Umikage, Saizo. The long bridge leading to SHIPPUUGAKURE NO SATO has been closed for outsiders because they wish to celebrate this moment with Ocean Country natives only.
As usual, the Storm Country has been hosting the Asgard Games to welcome their Kanetsukage, Cornelia. It's a double special occasion because Cornelia is also the first female Kanetsukage. She has been picked for her courage, loyalty and outstanding power by the BOUFUUGAKURE NO SATO elders.
Not only that, but the Cherry Blossom Country has become relieved as well. It seems that everyone is slowly picking up after the war now. KUSAMURAGAKURE NO SATO proudly presented their new Sakurakage, Altair.
TSUKIGAKURE NO SATO is still thriving on the merchants coming in and out. They have not experienced anything special lately. Their wealth has remained the same as they were not forced to invest into shinobi unlike the others.
On the cold isles of the Blizzard Country, HYOUGAGAKURE NO SATO has still refused to create a free traveling policy. Some habits never change. To protect their traditions, they have even warned outsiders to not interfere with their matters.
Now that everyone is picking up again, who will come out on top?

On the southern outskirts of where Nox Forest dwindles out, lies Ferrum Hills. Currently the last feeble rays of sunlight clung to the scattered clouds, coloring them purple against the dark blue sky. The grass on the many hills seemed to have a teal hue as the occasional whisper of wind runs along its curves. Dotted along the hills are various shrubbery where the odd rabbit or fox dwells more or less peacefully.

Walking out from the forest, Shinoe scanned the sky, only to be disappointed to see that it was empty but for a few fluffy lavender clouds. "Well this is it." She declared, glancing back at Saizo behind her. "This is Ferrum Hills. If you keep walking in that direction for an hour or so, you'll reach a village." She gestured to the east loosely before looking out at the hills. She half expected him to leave. Suddenly disappear without a trail or trace that he had been their. Maybe she had been daydreaming the whole incident.

Wonderful! Finally out and into the nice hilly areas. It had felt like forever since he had entered that place. To finally be out was great. In his head he was completely ecstatic about it, jumping around and rolling in the grass. He remained relatively calm on the outside though. He did wish there was a little more. Just grass seemed idle for most training, but for this technique, it was a bit of a hinderance. It could probably still be done just as well. He would try and look around for one. Maybe if he had the ability to use earth release. It sure would be a handy thing. Too bad Hozuki blood wasn't necessarily rich in chakra nature. It was mostly water. Plain and boring water. Sure, it had its moments, but other then watering plants, he couldn't find any fun uses, not that watering plants was actually fun. Saizo would look around for something he could hit before finding a significantly large boulder. It looked like a boulder anyways, It was still a bit dark and his eyes were adjusting. He had yet to say anything since leaving the forest. Not having anything in particular he felt like sharing. He did like the way the place looked. Why was it that the Land Of Death was so nice? This question had bugged him for too long yet he still had no true answer for it. Sure there were a few bad places, but there were so many nice places that made up for it. The way some people think is just strange sometimes.

Shinoe stared at Saizo with one hand on her hip and the other trying to figure out what to do with itself. He seemed to be taking great care to get a grasp of his surroundings as he turned and walked about, getting a thorough look around. Trailing behind him absently, she wondered if he was looking for anything in particular when he seemed to catch sight of a large boulder with several shrubs surrounding it. Was that a good thing? An obstruction? His lack of communication was annoying her. Finally she snapped and said aloud, "What are you doing? Did you fall in love with the rock or something? I thought you said you were going to teach me something." The kunoichi folded her arms in front of her expectantly. If he was going to back out she would have preferred he just run off when she wasn't looking.

Saizo would ignore his very loudmouthed student as she complained at him for trivial things. She was a pain, but she had helped him out in the forest and she was technically a relative. With pirates though, one can never be quite sure how close there separate families really were. They did belong to the same clan. At least that was for sure. Saizo turned around, back towards the rock and facing towards the insulting lil lass. So what he was going to teach her is a very difficult technique that requires an extreme amount of chakra control and brains. Sure, she had neither of these, but that is the reason he was teaching her the technique. They were going to run before they even learned to walk, but then walking will become easier. It was a rather back ways kind of thought process but it was alright in his head. If it worked, then he will have just saved her months and months of training. If they fail, well, then they will have both wasted all their time there and he will have to come up with some other form of witty teaching. "Alright. So what I'm going to teach you is a rather difficult technique. It will require all of your concentration and energy. This technique, after all, is regarded as the apex of shape transformation." this was probably the best way to put it, there wasn't a better explanation. Maybe simply explaining it wasn't going to work, though. She seemed like the type who learned by actually seeing it then reading it up in a textbook.

"How bout I show you it first." he said as he then held his hand out. As he had quite a great control and mastery over this technique, having learned it long ago in his travels, he was able to create it single handed with relative ease. The focus of the training was also to have her learn how to accomplish it with one hand, but if she learned to do it two handed, it would still be a success. Her chakra control was much poorer then his so two hands would be safer. As he put his palm out, chakra started spinning around in his palm, taking the shape of the violently spinning sphere. The glow coming off it being rather intense and the sound of the spiral coming of it. This was the strongest technique in Saizo's arsenal of jutsu. It was also pretty handy in most situations. Maybe it was intense to teach it to a Genin with little to no experience, but he felt that if he was going to teach her anything, it would have to be flashy and memorable.

As Saizo turned around, Shinoe's glare faltered slightly, wondering if she had pushed him a bit too much. She never knew where people's lines were and most of the time she didn't care. But the genin realized that she didn't want to push away this particular person. Not yet anyways. But apparently she had misjudged his expression as he simply continued with his lesson, to her mild relief. Nodding in determination as the other Hozuki went on to say that the technique he was going to try and teach her would be difficult to learn and require much concentration and energy. She assumed that he meant chakra energy. When he said it was the apex of shape transformation though she simply frowned, feeling lost now. "Shape transformation?" Shinoe asked skeptically. When he offered to show her the technique first she nodded, unfolding her arms and straightening her posture in interest. Her sea hued eyes widened as when Saizo held out his hand, chakra seemed to swirl and gather in it like a glowing blue ball of compressed energy. "Whoa..." Shinoe breathed with wonder, stepping closer to her clansman, hand out stretched in curiosity. What did another's chakra feel like? She felt warmth as she approached, and the wind whipping at her hair and clothes and this made her frown in worry. "Are you using fuuton? I...I only know how to use suiton." She wondered if that meant that she wouldn't be able to replicate this amazing technique.

Fuuton chakra. What a strange idea. But… what if it were? Or rather, what if it was added to it? Saizo had close to no skill with futon though, but he did hold the potential. It probably wouldn't be as easy as he was thinking it would be. He wanted to try mixing his suiton nature with it too. Maybe both together. The power of two elements combined into a powerful jutsu such as this. It would be a force to be reckoned with, that much was for sure. "Don't worry. This jutsu doesn't require any sort of nature transformation.", well, from what he knew about it, it didn't require any. Maybe he learned it wrong and was performing it incorrectly all this time? Even misperformed the jutsu was still very powerful. He could also have been performing it correctly all this time as well. He wasn't quite sure, as he had yet to meet someone else who could perform the technique. He would just hope this was the correct way to use it and continue using it that way. He could at least tell that the technique was impressing her to a degree. It did have the tendency to strike awe into other people for the first time. It is a very spectacular technique. In both appearance and actual use. He continued to hold his hand out with the Rasengan placed right onto of it. Saizo would await for anymore questions before he would proceed to teach his new student anything else about it.

Shinoe tilted her head as Saizo told her that the technique didn't involve any nature jutsus, just chakra. It made her wonder if it was possible to add her suiton to the technique to make it more powerful... But that would best be experimented another time. Hopefully when she had a good handle on how to do...this. "What's this technique called?" She was eager to know how it worked and how to try it out herself. The brunette was always rather fast paced, even though she wasn't the most proficient of ninja. She held out her hand to mimic Saizo's position, but other than stare at her empty hand she had no idea what to do.

Saizo laughed a little as she held her hand out, seeming to replicate what he had done to form his own chakra sphere. He had yet to explain what she was to do. At least she was eager to learn. An enthusiastic student was always good. Made teaching more fun. "This technique is called Rasengan." An appropriate name for a technique such as this. Spiraling sphere. Exactly what it was. "You see, the technique takes the upmost chakra control you can muster up and condenses it into a ball that fits into your palm, such as the one I'm holding, and then you spin it around at speeds, increasing the damage a tremendous amount." Saizo hoped this would be a good enough explanation, but he wouldn't mind if she asked for a more in-depth explanation. The Rasengan in his hand was steadily spin. He no longer felt like he needed to keep it up, but maybe a little while longer till he released it. It was still useful for showing off as an example of what she was suppose to accomplish.

Shinoe glared as she heard Saizo's muffled laugh but she tried to subdue it. He was teaching her a cool new jutsu after all. Her interest returned as he told her the name of the technique and she repeated it experimentally as she stared at the ball of spinning chakra in the boy's hand. "Rah-sen-gan. Rasengan." Glancing up at the other Hozuki's eyes as he went on to explain that the jutsu needed a lot of chakra control and she couldn't hide her grimace of worry. "That might be a bit hard... I'm not terrible at Ninjutsu, I'm just better and more comfortable with Taijutsu." She explained to the other ninja. "Like...how do I get the chakra to stay in my hand and not just dissipate? Just concentrate?"

How do you keep it in your hand. Hmm. How would he explain it? It kind of came natural to him. They had once said something in the academy, but this one had never gone to such. This would make things rather difficult. Saizo would release the ball of energy from his hand. Opening up his both hands. "Here" he said as he stuck his other hand out. "Put your hand on top of mine, palm facing out." he said to her, in an almost worried tone. If they couldn't get past the first step then they obviously weren't going to be able to get the training complete. He was hoping she might learn through feeling it, rather then solely seeing it being preformed. Taijutsu was learned best when actually performed, right? At least thats how he saw it. He wasn't very skilled in taijutsu himself, instead taking up other studies to improve the other aspects of his ninja capabilities. Using more then one hand for the Rasengan had been done before. At least it has been by him. He wasn't quite sure about others. Two hands was actually far easier, but far less efficient in battle, so he usually stuck to his one handed style. He had hoped she could pick it up like he did, but use of two hands would make up for her lack of experience in chakra control.

Shinoe blinked as the rasengan in Saizo's hand dissipated and he brought forward his other hand in the same manner as his first before giving her instructions. His tone had her feeling a little uneasy though. Was something wrong? Did she do something? Obeying what he said, the kunoichi held out her left hand on top of his but palm facing outward. Squinting at the shape they made, the brunette visualized a ball of chakra spinning around in their hands. She had of course used chakra and learned a bit of it while training with Suitomo, but he'd been more focused on making her stronger and controlling her hydrification. "Uh, are both of us going to try and-" She attempted to gesture a ball like thing with her free hand before continuing, "Make the chakra ball thing. Or one of us?" Shinoe wasn't even sure if that was possible but she was just guessing, grasping at straws.

"I am going to make it. All you have to do is exert some chakra. I'll show you what it feels like and what you should be aiming to do by yourself. From there I will have you try it on your own." he said as he already started using his own chakra to start forming the Rasengan, hoping she would soon start lending a helping hand and allow him to start melding her chakra. This was the first time he ever tried it, but because there chakra was bound to be at least a little similar, it was likely that it would work. He was quite glad that she had lost that sour attitude that she stubbornly held onto for so long, though it was bond to come back after her confusion faded away. He was hoping that he wouldn't need to force her to climb trees or walk on water before she could truly learn the technique. Maybe if she wanted to master it she would need to pick up training such as that. Chakra control was the most important aspect of this technique after all. All in due time, though. They would just have to focus on the present for now, and if problems raised then they would see what they should change.
