Clans:
Most important clan is the Shichiyou clan, since they founded the Hidden Glacier. There are only four/five people in the main branch of the Shichiyou clan and a lot more in the side branch. The main branch are treated like royalty and are often referred to by royal titles. The first born of the main branch is the most influential person in the village for he has access to the ancient power of the Shichiyou.

Weather
The Water Tribe's dominant season is winter. To an effect, their powers are at their strongest during the season due to the longer nights. In actuality, they experience winter-like weather consistently, with snow falling year-round. The climate of the Hidden Glacier is characterized for very low temperatures, typically under 0°C. They have a polar climate; scarce rainfall and snow and the relative humidity in the air is low.

Lay out:
Behind high walls of ice and an ice gate and canal lock system passable only by the use of Hidden Glacier, there lies a large and bustling monarchic nation-state. Ruled by the Fubikikage, the capital city features a palace, an army, and many skilled warriors, and a hidden oasis which houses the Moon and Ocean Spirits. Flanked by icy sidewalks, the city roadways are canals, which people travel by gondola. Located in the Blizzard Country, it is a huge, multi-tiered city built into the icy landscape. Looming over the city are giant ice cliffs from which it was originally built. The city rests on the shores of the sea, and behind it is an enormous frozen tundra.

History:
Long ago, there was a man named Shichiyou Tenzou. He had an aptitude amount of knowledge of how water worked. He developed various skills and techniques that involved ice and all aspects of it. He was famous in his power and capabilities for the area was covered by a frozen tundra. He started to built a shinobi village in the Blizzard Country as a way to unite all the various tribes in one place. Unfortunately, he passed away before he could finish his life's goal.

Luckily, he had a son that continued his legacy. There isn't much information about him. Just that he signed a pact with a demon to gain more power, to increase the speed of his work. There was a certain price though. The demon's power shall run forever through the main branch's first son of each generation, giving them red eyes. And the demon would be able to use their body's sometimes. The main branch would be able to access the Demon Gateways and use one handed handseals, though only the first born son would be able to access the demon's powers.

This man gave birth to three children. Three boys. And indeed the first son had red eyes while the other two had blue and brown eyes. These three men eventually finished their grandfather's work. They founded Hyougakure together. All the residents of the local villages moved to Hyougakure. All the tribes of the local villages moved to Hyougakure. It was a beautiful and amazing place, just like a fairy tale. An enormous village that provided security to everyone. They used the ice and water to create the various temples, villages, and canals that comprise the city. Important to the city's transportation and defense are the canals. The canals are a series of interconnected waterways that spiral through the city. Boats use these waterways to transport people and things. To get into the city from the ocean, boats enter a series of water-locking chambers. Once in, shinobi raise the water levels, lifting the boats until the vessel finally reaches the waterways of the village. This special entrance ensures that no unwanted ships can make it into the city. Because of these special security features and the city's location, Hidden Glacier has been able to fend off numerous attacks.

A thick wall of ice was erected at the mouth of the city as a means to keep attackers out of the village, named Shichiyou's Monarch, Hyougakure's outer wall, the city's thickest layer of protection. The wall is huge. Easily a hundred meters tall and perhaps fifteen meters thick. The wall encircled all of Hyougagakure. It is considered indestructible and is commonly drawn on maps as a terrain feature. It has never been breached. The council mandated that soldiers and sentries would be placed on the wall at all times, with many of them even living in built-in homes inside the wall. Hidden Glacier has become increasingly isolated, cutting off most of its contact with the outside world.

A couple of years later one of the side branch leaders died during the war with Kazangakure. He was leading a small shinobi squad, nothing more. Kazangakure wasn't a match since they couldn't handle the cold. Heavy winter blizzards constantly pelt the tundra, and unstable ice sheets often gave way under the slightest pressure. He died with a smile on his face as he crushed several platoons at once saying "You never managed to enter our village." The two remaining brothers were saddened by this tragedy. Shichiyou clan was left with a main branch and side branch.

Soon a child was born in the main branch family. He had red eyes and white hair. It seemed like the demon transfered himself in the next generation of Shichiyou. His father named the new leader after his grandfather, Shichiyou Tenzou. May he be as important and influential as his great-grandfather he said.
